About the event

This illustrated talk will look at the life and work of Gwyther Irwin (1931-2008), an important yet somewhat under-represented and overlooked figure in post-war British art. Over a forty-year career, he produced a wide range of acclaimed and innovative art, from large-scale collages and complex reliefs to subtle abstract paintings and striking watercolours. Irwin is represented in the Southampton City Art Gallery collection.
